There is no single number that suits every learner. Progress depends on prior experience, attendance, practice, comfort level and the skills being learned.

Swimming lessons can build skills and awareness, but no lesson programme can remove all drowning risk. Children require close, active adult supervision in and around water.

Tell us before registering. We can explain whether the available lessons are suitable for a learner who needs a gradual introduction. Progress and comfort levels vary from child to child.
